SARAH ANN² COLLINS (William¹) was born at Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England, on April 1845 a daughter of William Wright Collins and his wife Selina Hibbert . She died at Pawtucket, Providence County, Rhode Island, on 18 November 1922. She married at Pawtucket on 30 April 1868 CHARLES HENRY FORD. He was born at Ashton-under-Lyne on 11 Jul;y 1845, a son of Benjamin and Louise Ford. He died at Pawtucket on 18 April 1921.^[1]

Sarah Collins and Charles Ford were both born at Ashton, only three months apart. However Charles came to America with his parents when he was one year old;^[2] Sarah came to America with her parents when she was fourteen. They married in their early twenties at Pawtucket, with Congregational pastor James Lyon officiating.^[3] They had four children, however their second child lived only 15 months. They lived on North Main Street in Pawtucket all their lives, in proximity to other Collins family members. Charles worked as a machinist.

Concerning the children of Sarah and Charles:

• Selina Ford and her husband Thomas Harrison lived on North Main Street, Pawtucket, close to other Collins family members, all their lives. Thomas worked as a compositor, or printer. Their son Charles lived in Pawtucket and worked as a bank teller. Their other son, Thomas, and his wife Agnes and children, lived at Attleboro, Bristol County, Massachusetts, in 1930, where he worked as an accountant for a cotton mill. In 1940 they were back in Pawtucket, where Thomas was manager of the silk department of a cotton mill.^[4]
• Louisa Ford and her husband Lloyd Tingley were reported in Pawtucket in the 1900 and 1920 censuses, where Lloyd was an electrician, eventually with his own shop. However the family then changed course, moving to nearby Cumberland, where Lloyd operated a poultry farm, as reported in the 1930 and 1940 censuses. They had three childrem but their first child lived only five months. Daughter Bertha married Harold Franklin, who in 1930 was manager of a poultry farm in Cumberland, and in 1940 had his own farm at Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut. Lloyd Spencer Tingley, son of Lloyd and Louise, was also a "poultry man" working on a poultry farm in Cumberland in 1930.^[5]
• Charles E. Ford was living with his wife's parents in Pawtucket in 1920. The penmanship on that census record is not easy to read, but it appears Charles was a grinder for a mechanical manufacturer, and his wife Maud was a sorter for a cardboard manufacturer.^[6]

      1. William roger Harrison b. at Pawtucket on 18 April 1922, d. there on 22 September 1939.
   2. Thomas L. Harrison b. at Pawtucket on 22 July 1899, d. on September 1964; m. at Pawtucket on 22 January 1921 Agnes C. McLoughlin b. at Attleboro, Bristol County, Massachusetts, on 1 August 1902, d. on July 1973. Children of Thomas and agnes:
      1. Thomas L. Harrison b. at Pawtucket on 12 August 1921, d. on 17 May 1993.

   2. Bertha Louise Tinglay b. at Pawtucket on 27 January 1902, d. at Killingly, Windham County, Connecticut, on 6 February 1988; m. about 1926-7 Harold E. Franklin b. at Rhode Island about 1896-7. Child of Bertha and Harold:
