JULIA ELDORA10 HATHAWAY (Adiel9, John8, David7, Love6, Savory5, Simon4, Arthur3, John2, Arthur1) was born at Fairhaven, Bristol County, Massachusetts, on 27 October 1902 a daughter of Adiel Harvey Hathaway and his wife Julia Reed,[1] and died at Sea Level, Carteret Couinty, North Carolina on 10 September 1982.[2] She married at Fairhaven on 26 October 1926 WALTER ENGLAND STONE.[3] He was born at Fall River, Bristol County, on 8 June 1897, a son of Thomas and Alice E. (England) Stone.[4] He died at Morehead City, Carteret County, on 13 March 1983.[5]
Walter Stone fought in the Army in World War I, enlisting on 7 July 1918, and being discharged on 30 June 1919.[6]
The 1930 Census reported Walter and Julia Stone, and their daughter Ruth, living at 32 Rockland Street, New Bedford, Bristol County. Walter, a grinder in a twist drill company, was 32, Julia, 27, Ruth, 3.[7] In 1940 the family was living at 416 Union Street, New Bedford:[8]

According to other columns in the census form, Walter had been out of work from his regular job for 46 weeks; they rented their home for $20 a month.
Daughter Ruthie and Ira eloped in 1946 and settled in North Carolina. Walter and Julia moved to North Carolina in 1958 to help Ruthie, who worked. Ira was a shrimp fisherman.[9]
Ruthie and Ira both died in a traffic accident,[10] aged 48 and 46. Their youngest child, Tracy, was thirteen.
Rocky married two months after his parents' deaths. His wife, Debbie had a two-year-old child, whom Rocky adopted in 1975. Rocky had graduated from East Carteret High School in 1966. As of 1985 Rocky was a commercial fisherman and Debbie a licensed practical nurse. They are members of Atlantic United Methodist Church.[11]
