CAROLINE W.6 RANCK (Adam5-4, Jacob3, Valentine2, John Philip1) was born at Bird-in-Hand, East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on 16 October 1888 a daughter of Adam Michael Ranck and his wife Caroline Wenger . She died at Upper Leacock Township, Lancaster County, on 20 May 1959.[1] She married on 17 February 1910 NATHAN RUDY ZUCK.[2] He was born at West Earl Township, Lancaster County, on 2 May 1886, a son of Daniel LeFevre Zuck and Annie Amelia Rudy. He died at Ephrata, Lancaster County, on 11 July 1959.[3]
Nathan and Caroline grew up on farms in eastern Lancaster County. Caroline was the last of seven children, four of whom survived, in her family of origin. However she was the second to leave home and marry, which she did about three years after her father had left the family. Nathan and Caroline Zuck were reported fsrming in West Earl Township in the 1910 and 1920 censuses,[4] at Manheim Township in 1930,[5] and at Leacock Township in 1940.[6] They had eight children in their first thirteen years of marriage; two of the children died in infancy. The 1930 Census described the full three-generation family:[7]
