The Ancestors and Descendants of
Albert Martin (1855-1923)
Sixth Generation

FRANCIS6 MARTIN (Albert5, Mary Gochenauer4) was born at Pequea Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on August 1883[1] a son of Albert Martin and his wife Elizabeth Groff, and died on 1944.[2] He married at Lancaster, Lancaster County, on 21 January 1905 FLORA MAE ADAMS.[3] She was born at Cecil County, Maryland, on 8 August 1885, a daughter of Jacob C. Adams and his wife Louisa Miney. She died at East Drumore Township, Lancaster County, on 1 May 1934.[4]

Francis "Frank" Martin was one year and nine months old when his mother committed suicide. I do not have information regarding where he was placed for the next several years. The 1900 Census reported Frank Martin, age 16, boarding in the home of Henry and Emma Andrew ar New Providence, Providence Township, Lancasater County. He was attending school.[5]

Frank and Flora married at the ages of 21 and 19, respectively. They soon had a family, and were reported in the 1910 Census in East Drumore Township as follows:[6]

The 1930 Census reported the family in the same township, with all five children at home:[8]

Flora (Adams) Martin died in 1934, at the age of 48, from carcinoma of both ovaries, with other complications.[9] By 1940 the family had dispersed. I have not found Barbara in the census of that year. Frank was living alone in East Drumore Township, age 57, a painter of automobiles.[10] Blanche was reported at Quarryville as follows:[11]
