CHARLES ALBERT10 MAXFIELD III (Charles9-8-7, Warren6-5, Timothy4-3-2, John1) was born at Fall River, Bristol County, Massachusetts, on 3 February 1946,[1] the son of Charles Albert Maxfield, Jr. and his wife Pauline Hathaway Krumbholz. He married first at State College, Centre County, Pennsylvania, on 8 June 1968 CHRISTYANN8 RANCK[2] (Adam Milton7, Wenger6, Adam Michael5, Adam4, Jacob3, Valentine2, John Philip1). She was born at Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on 3 December 1946,[3] a daughter of Adam Milton Ranck and his wife Mary Elizabeth Bauer. They divorced at Cortland County, New York, on 29 August 2006.[4] Charles married second at Gwynedd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on 26 June 2010 CONSTANCE ANNE6 LEZENBY[5] (George5, John4, George3, John2, Cornelius1). She was born at Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, on 25 September 1954 a child of George Lezenby and his wife Marie Alvina "Mimi" Bagster-Collins.[6] She had previously married at Blue Bell, Montgomery County, on 10 January 1976 SCOTT ROBERT PENNIMAN. He was born at Lower Merion, Montgomery County, on 10 October 1953. They were divorced in Montgomery County on November 2004.[7]

Young Charles, known as "Chuck," was baptized at New Boston Chapel, Fairhaven, Bristol County, on 6 June 1946, by Rev. Horace F. Westwood.[8] He joined the First Congregational Church, Fairhaven, with the rest of the family, on 25 March 1956,[9] when the Rev. John D. Maddaford was pastor. Chuck graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1963,[10] received his B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Centre County, on 4 September 1966,[11] and his M.Div. from Lancaster Theological Seminary, Lancaster, on 1 June 1970.[12] Chuck Maxfield returned to school in 1990, receiving the Th.M. degree from Union Theological Seminary (now called Union Presbyterian Seminary), Richmond, Virginia, in May 1991,[13] and the Ph.D. degree in May 1995.[14] His doctoral dissertation was The Reflex Influence of Missions: The Domestic Operations of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, 1810-1850.

Christyann was baptized at Willow Street Evangelical and Reformed Church (now United Church of Christ), Lancaster County, on 13 April 1947 by Norman Shollenberger, pastor.[15] She grew up on a farm near Refton, Lancaster County, the oldest of six children. She was confirmed at Willow Street United Church of Christ on 21 May 1961 by Francis R. Daugherty, pastor.[16] She graduated from Lampeter-Strasburg High School, Lampeter, Lancaster County, on 5 June 1964, and received a B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University on 15 June 1968. She later returned to school and received an M.Div. degree from Iliff School of Theology, Denver, Colorado, on 29 May 1987.[17]

Chuck and Christy were married by the Rev. Jacob Wagner at Faith United Church of Christ, where they met and were both active in the college student group.

Chuck Maxfield was ordained into the Christian Ministry by Old Colony United Association of the United Church of Christ, at First Congregational Church, Fairhaven, on 11 October 1970.[18] Rev. Jake Wagner was, again, the preacher. Chuck has served in the following parishes:[19]

Since 2002 Chuck has been a lecturer in history at State University of New York (SUNY)--Cortland, Broome Community College, Binghamton, Broome County, New York,, DeSales University, Center Valley, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, Eastern University, Saint Davids, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Esperanze College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Holy Family University, Philadelphia.

Christyann Ranck Maxfield was ordained into the ministry at Aricka Congregational United Church of Christ, on Fort Berthold Reservation, at White Shield, McLean County, North Dakota, on 8 November 1987. She served the following churches:[20]

Chuck and Christy agreed to part on 28 August 2005. Their separation was recorded at Cortland County, New York, on 18 April, 2006. The divorce was decreed in Cortland County on 29 August 2006. Chuck and Christy celebrated a Service for the Recognition of the End of a Marriage on 22 October 2006 at Christ Presbyterian Church, Cortland.[21]

Charles Maxfield and Constance Lezenby married at Gwynedd Friends Meeting in 2010, and live at Lansdale, Montgomery County.

Constance Lezenby grew up in Montgomery County, the oldest of four children. She graduated from Wissahickon High School, Ambler, Montgomery County, on 1972. She received a B.A. in Design of the Environment from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, in 1976, Φ β κ, and an M.Arch. from the same university in 1978. She became a registered architect in 1982, and started her own business in 1991.[22]

Connie found a spiritual home in the Religious Society of Friends in 1989, and has been active in the life of Gwynedd Friends Meeting since. She received an M.A. in Wholistic Spirituality and Spiritual Direction from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, in 1998, and has a practice as a spiritual director. She has been recognized as a "traveling minister" by the Religious Society of Friends.[23]

David and Andy Maxfield, growing up in a minister's family, moved frequently as their father changed positions. After their earliet years at York Beach, York County, Maine, they moved at ages 2 and 1 with their family to Madrid, Saint Lawrence County, New York. At ages 6 and 5 they came to Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. At ages 9 and 8 they travelled west to Flasher, Morton County, North Dakota. When they were 16 and 14 the family moved to Parshall, Mountrail County, North Dakota.

David received believer's baptism at the United Church of Christ, Flasher, on 5 May 1985. He graduated from Parshall High School on 21 May 1989. He attended North Dakota State University, where he earned a B.S degree on May 1994. David married Chris Sunday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Fargo. They have remained at Fargo, work there and raised a family there, always active at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ.[24]

Andy received believer's baptism at the United Church of Christ, Flasher, on 18 May 1986. He graduated from Parshall High School on May 1990. He attended the University of North Dakota, where he earned a B.S degree on 12 May 1996. Andy remained in Grand Forks, Grand Forks County, North Dakota, for a few years after graduation, but decided to move after the flood of 1997. In 1998 he found work in the Saint Paul, Minnesota, area. There he met and married Brenda Casselman, and the two of them work and are raising a family. Brenda's mother, Marie, lives in their family. Their child, Henry, was born twelve weeks premature, weighing only one pound twelve ounces. He is now healthy and thriving.[25]

Charles Maxfield and his first wife Christyann Ranck have two children:

DAVID CHARLES11 MAXFIELD b. at Portsmouth, Rickingham Co., NH, on 5 November 1970;[26] m. at Fargo on 1 June 1995 CHRISTINE ANDREA SUNDAY,[27] daughter of Michael Stephen and Paulette Jean (Sonnenburg) Sunday, b. at Minot, Ward County, North Dakota, on 30 July 1973.[28] Children of David and Chris:[29]
    1. Matthew Tyler Maxfield b. at Fargo on 2 November 1955, confirmed at First Congregational U.C.C., Fargo, on 15 May 2011; graduated from Fargo North High School on 2014.
    2. Alexander Charles Michael Maxfield b. at Fargo on 2 June 1997, confirmed at First Congregational U.C.C., Fargo, on 15 May 2011; graduated from Fargo North High School on 2015.
    3. Rebekkah Jane Maxfield b. at Fargo on 29 May 1999, bp. at First Congregational U.C.C., Fargo, on 11 July 1999; confirmed there on 5 May 2013, graduated from Fargo North High School on 4 June 2017.
  2. ANDREW SCOTT11 MAXFIELD b. at Portsmouth on 7 May 1972;[30] m. at Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on 11 October 2002 BRENDA MARIE CASSELMAN,[31] daughter of Mary Frances "Marie" Casselman, b. at Saint Paul on 22 September 1972.[32] Child of Andy and Brenda:
    1. Henry Scott Maxfield b. at Saint Paul on 11 January 2008.[33]

Constance Lezenby and Scott Penniman had the following children:[34]

KATHARINE AUGUSTA BROOKS PENNIMAN b. at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 4 August 1978; m. at Readfield, Kennebec County, Maine, on 9 August 2003 DANIEL LANPHER, b. at Burlington, Chittenden County, Vermont, on 13 December 1979. . Katharine graduated from Crefeld School at Philadelphia in 1995; received a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Maine, Orono, Maine, in 1999; M.Ed. from Arcadia University, Glenside, Montgomery County, in 2011; she teaches school at Philadelphia; Dan received a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Maine, Orono, in 2000; Masters in International Business from Arcadia in 2011; he works for R.E.P. Industries at Lansdale. Children of Katherine and Dan:
    1. Wesley William Lanpher b. at Burlington on 25 April 2004.
    2. Eleanore Katharine Lanpher b. at Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on 16 September 2008.
  2. JACOB RICHARD LEZENBY PENNIMAN b. at Bryn Mawr, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on 10 January 1981; m. at Philadelphia on 16 July 2005 SARAH ELIZABETH ESHELMAN, b. on 2 January 1981. Jacob graduated from Crefeld School in 1998; received B.S. in Biology from Dickenson College, Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in 2003; he works in the family business, R.E.P. Industries at Lansdale; Sarah received a B.A. from Dickenson College in 2002; she is Director of the library at Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Children of Jacob and Sarah:

After marriage both Anna and Joseph changed their surname to KOHLMAN. Anna graduated Abington Friends School 2001; B.A. in Theatre from Scripps College, Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, in 2005; M.Ed. from Mary Washington University, Fredericksburg, Virginia, 2013. Child of Joseph and Anna:
